Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission to the online MEd or graduate certificate program, you must meet two requirements.
  • Undergraduate Degree

    You must hold an undergraduate degree from any field.

  • GPA

    You must have a minimum GPA of a 2.75 on a 4.0 scale for the final 60 semester hours of undergraduate coursework.

    If you have completed graduate-level work, you must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 scale.

Application Requirements

All applicants will be required to submit the following documents. For complete information and step-by-step application instructions to each program, view the application process instructions.

All applicants:

  • An online UIC graduate application and application fee
  • Unofficial transcripts or proof of degree
  • UIC College of Education application
  • Goals statement
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • GRE test scores from within the last five years

International applicants or individuals who have taken international coursework:

  • Proof of English language proficiency
  • An international credential evaluation fee

All applicants:
